Mark is the founder of World Extreme Medicine, Across the Divide Expeditions, MSc Extreme Medicine (Exeter University) and the world's largest subject matter conference. An innovative and entrepreneurial leader, Mark’s passion is to bring inspirational people together to build networks which improve standards in remote, disaster and humanitarian medicine. A former special forces reserve soldier, a professional photographer, dogsled guide, remote boat handler and peripatetic explorer Mark has been involved with expeditions for over 30 years and has led and organised expeditions to all of the world’s continents, in desert and marine environments but also in polar regions, and at altitude. He is returning Club Flag 244 from his "Nabataean Traverse Expedition: Petra to AlUla" project, which was recognized with a 2026 Kensington Exploration Grant.
