Biotechnologists
Oliver and Glen are co-founders of Basecamp Research. The inception of Basecamp Research began on the 'Return to Vatnajokull' ski expedition led by Oliver and Glen which retraced a 1932 route, discovering unseen historical artefacts along the way. This expedition saw them live on the ice cap for one month and become the first team to conduct fully off-grid DNA sequencing in a polar-style environment, which opens entirely new avenues to explore novel biodiversity at the genetic level. Glen and Oliver met 10 years ago doing a degree in biochemistry and engineering, respectively, from the University of Oxford. Glen also has a PhD in bioengineering from Imperial College London and Oliver has a PhD in biomedical engineering from the University of Oxford.
